The British EYFS Approach at Stanford Nursery
One of the most important things to consider when choosing the best nursery in Al Shamkha is the educational framework behind the nursery's daily activities.
Stanford Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a British framework designed to support children's development during the early years.
EYFS takes a holistic approach to learning. Children are encouraged to develop different skills through a combination of structured experiences, play, exploration, communication, creativity, and physical activity.
Communication and Language
Strong communication skills help children express their needs, share ideas, ask questions, and interact with others.
At nursery, everyday conversations, stories, group activities, and interactions with teachers provide opportunities for children to strengthen their listening and speaking skills.
Physical Development
Young children learn through movement.
Physical play and age-appropriate activities help children develop coordination, motor skills, balance, confidence, and healthy habits.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Nursery is an important environment for developing independence and confidence.
Children learn how to interact with others, manage emotions, cooperate, share, and gradually become more comfortable in new situations.
Early Literacy
The early years are an opportunity to build the foundations for future reading and writing.
Children are introduced to early literacy through age-appropriate activities and experiences rather than relying only on traditional classroom instruction.
Creative Arts
Art, music, movement, and imaginative play allow children to express themselves and develop their creativity.
Creative activities also give children the freedom to experiment, make choices, and explore different ways of communicating.
Understanding the World
Children naturally want to understand the world around them.
Through exploration and hands-on experiences, they can begin to discover nature, communities, people, cultures, and their surrounding environment.
These areas form part of the holistic EYFS approach offered by Stanford Nursery.
What Makes a Nursery Stand Out in Al Shamkha?
Finding the best nursery in Al Shamkha is not simply about choosing the nursery with the most impressive facilities.
The quality of the child's daily experience matters just as much.
Several elements can make a meaningful difference.
A Safe and Secure Environment
Safety is one of the first things parents consider when choosing a nursery.
Children need to feel comfortable enough to explore and learn, while parents need confidence that appropriate safety procedures are in place.
Stanford Nursery highlights several safety features, including CCTV monitoring, secure entry systems, and safety protocols designed to create a secure environment for children.
However, safety is not only about technology.
The teachers and staff who supervise children throughout the day also play a critical role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Qualified and Caring Educators
Teachers have a major influence on a child's early years experience.
A good early years educator needs more than subject knowledge. They need patience, understanding, communication skills, and the ability to recognize that every child develops differently.
Stanford Nursery states that its educators are highly trained and qualified, with a focus on creating personalized learning experiences that recognize each child's individual journey.
This individual approach is particularly important during the early years because children may have very different personalities, interests, strengths, and learning preferences.
Learning Environments Designed for Young Children
The environment itself can become part of the learning experience.
Young children need opportunities to move, explore, create, imagine, and interact with others.
Stanford Nursery provides well-equipped learning rooms, outdoor play areas, sensory rooms, sleep and quiet rooms, secure gates, and daily hygiene and sanitization practices.
When visiting a nursery in Al Shamkha, parents should look beyond how the facilities look and ask how children actually use these spaces throughout the day.
What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
One of the best ways to evaluate a nursery is to understand how your child's day will be structured.
Early childhood learning does not need to happen only through formal lessons.
Children can learn through storytelling, music, art, sensory experiences, outdoor play, movement, and interaction with their teachers and classmates.
Stanford Nursery offers a variety of daily activities, including:
Painting and art
Music and movement
STEM basics
Sensory play
