Nursery Summer Camp in Abu Dhabi: Fun, Safe and Full of Learning

When the long summer break arrives, many parents in Abu Dhabi start looking for a way to keep their little ones happy, active and engaged. A nursery summer camp offers the perfect solution — a safe, structured and joyful environment where toddlers can play, make friends and keep learning while the regular term is out.

At Stanford Nursery, our summer camp is designed especially for young children, combining the warmth and care of our everyday setting with the excitement of a special summer programme. In this guide we explain what a nursery summer camp offers, its benefits, and what makes Stanford a favourite choice for families across Abu Dhabi.

What Is a Nursery Summer Camp?

A nursery summer camp is a short-term programme that runs during the summer holidays for young children, usually from toddler age upwards. Unlike a regular term, the focus is on fun, exploration and social play rather than formal learning — although plenty of learning happens naturally along the way.

Sessions are usually flexible, so parents can choose full days or shorter mornings depending on the family's needs. The aim is simple: to give children a happy, stimulating place to spend their summer while parents manage work and daily life.

Benefits of a Summer Camp for Toddlers

A summer camp is about far more than filling time. For young children it offers real developmental benefits that carry into the new school year:

·         Keeps routines and social skills active over the long break

·         Encourages physical activity and outdoor play

·         Builds confidence and independence

·         Sparks creativity through arts, music and hands-on play

·         Helps children make new friends

·         Eases the transition back into nursery afterwards

For many toddlers, a summer camp is also a gentle first experience of a group setting, which can make starting nursery later feel much smoother and less daunting.

Keeping Learning Alive Over the Summer

One of the biggest worries for parents during a long break is that children lose some of the progress they made during the year. A nursery summer camp helps prevent this 'summer slide' by keeping language, social and motor skills active in a natural, playful way. Children continue to talk, sing, build, create and solve simple problems — just with a lighter, more relaxed feel.
